‘Empire of Lies’: Putin Calls Out Western Sanctions

Vladimir Putin labelled the West as an “empire of lies” prior to meeting govt and financial officials after Moscow was hit by an array of new sanctions over the weekend.
“[Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin] and I discussed this topic, naturally bearing in mind the sanctions that the so-called Western community – as I called it in my address, the ’empire of lies’ – is now trying to implement against our country”.
