French Tennis Star Says He Regrets Getting COV Vaxx, Now Has ‘Series of Problems’
French tennis player Jeremy Chardy announced last week that he will suspend his season, following what he described as “a series of struggles” after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
The story: Chardy made the announcement last week, confirming that he will remove himself from future tennis events to focus on recovering from health problems he experienced in the wake of taking a COVID-19 vaccine.
The 34-year-old Frenchman related that he began feeling pains all over his body after taking the vaccine.
Chardy’s comments: “Since I had my vaccine (between the Olympics and the US Open), I have had a problem, I’ve had a series of struggles,” he explained to AFP. “Suddenly, I cannot train, I cannot play.”
“Now I have been to see two doctors, I have done some tests so I know what I have and the most important thing is to take care of myself,” Chardy went on. “I prefer to take more time to take care of myself and be sure that in the future I will not have any problem rather than trying to get back on the court as quickly as possible and find myself still having health problems.”
Chardy, who ranked as high as 25 in the world in tennis, also expressed his regret at taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
“At the moment, my season is stopped and I don’t know when I’ll start again,” Chardy told Tennis World. “So now I regret having taken the vaccine, but I couldn’t have known. It’s the first time that the idea that next season might be my last has crossed my mind.”
Worth noting: In August, fellow tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas opened up about his hesitancy to take the vaccine.
“The COVID-19 vaccine has not been tested enough because it is new and has some side effects,” Tsitsipas stated. “I know some people who’ve had them. I’m not against it, I just see no reason for someone in my age group to be vaccinated.”
“At some point we should all do it, I’m not saying the opposite,” he continued. “The time will come when we will not be given many options, but until then I want to see a better version of the vaccine that gives us more pluses than minuses.”
Subsequently, Tsitsipas revealed that he will be taking the vaccine before the end of the tennis season.
