I had two Moderna vaccinations in April and July 2021. It resulted in night sweats, heart palpitations, and chest pain that started two nights after the second jab. It woke me up in the middle of the night.

The next day, I schedule a call with my doctor. She said that what I experience was normal after the Moderna vaccination and if it hadn’t passed in four weeks, I was to come in. I went in after four weeks and my doctor said to go to emergency to check for clots/heart attack. I went to emergency and my D-Dimer, ECG, chest x-ray, and bloodwork all showed no immediate threat — no heart attack and no clot. So, I was referred to a cardiologist where I had a stress test and echocardiogram, which came back normal.

The next step was a CAT scan and heart monitor. I won’t stop until we figure out my heart. I still have the palpitations and pain. I try not to worry. I am careful not to do much physical exertion as I see the pro athletes collapsing on the field in soccer, tennis etc and I don’t want to be come one of them.

I had my first jab while I was pregnant and my daughter was born with langerhans histiocytosis. Langerhans cell histiocytosis is a disorder in which excess immune system cells called langerhans cells build up in the body. Langerhans cells, which help regular the immune system, are normal found throughout the body, especially in the skin, lymph nodes, spleen, lungs, liver, and bone marrow. In langerhans cell histiocytosis, excess immature langerhans cells usually form tutors called granulomas. Many researches now consider langerhans cell histiocytosis to be a form of cancer but this classification remains controversial.

I’m a pro horseback rider and a registered nurse, who also did COVID tracing. I still do everything I used to but just a little less intense.

Vaccine adverse reactions aren’t being reported at the hospital because stye can’t confirm they are vaccine related.
